Greetings Friends, I hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer. Trust me I know it feels like it flew by and the idea of back to school is probably being met with mixed emotions. But if your kids are feeling less than thrilled about the new school year, here are some tips will help build some excitement. Not every child is thrilled about the idea of going back to school but the more fun and exciting you can make this period, the easier it will be.
Here are a few tips that will help make the thought of going back to school an exciting one:
• Create a new bedtime ritual. Since your kids will need to get back into their usual bedtime schedule, create a new routine to make it seem less like a chore. Add in a new ritual that is fun and will make bedtime something to look forward to.
• Plan a photo session. Plan a fun photo session with your child by asking them what they would like to wear and what props they would like to incorporate. This way, you’re getting brand new photos of them and it gets them excited about the new school year.
• Setup a new homework station. Homework is one part of going back to school that many children dread but this doesn’t have to be the case. Help them set up a new homework station that they’ll look forward to spending time at after school.
• Get organized. The more organized you are, the better it’s going to be to get going once school starts again. Speak to your child about what would make their mornings fun but will still allow you to stick to a schedule.
Wishing you all the best for the new school year!
